Sea to Summit
BreakdownIf you are a hunter who is looking for a lightweight spoon and consistently eat Mountain House or Peak Refuel, then look no further. Sea to Summit's Alpha Light Long Spoon uses a durable aluminum combined with a sleek-yet-strong shape to create an extremely lightweight utensil at a surprisingly affordable price. By hard anodizing the aluminum, it forms a kind of "exoskeleton," so the utensils can be slimmer and lighter. This hardened shell also encapsulates the aluminum, to eliminate the risk of the alloy leaching into food.
Bought this spoon to get deep in that mountain house… Only to realize that mountain house has now shortened their bags… or is this spoon really that long?!?! Either way, a great lightweight spoon!!!
Hade the spork version for some time now. picked up this one and like it much better
The Spoon is light-weight and durable. It works great for reaching to the bottom of the bag on a freeze dried food meal. The width and size of the spoon are perfect. I was going to buy the spork, but I am glad I didn't. The spoon is perfect.
I purchased this product with the hopes that it would eliminate the food getting on my hands when mixing/eating my backcountry dehydrated/freeze dried meal. When using past backpacking type spoons, I would always get food on my hands when stirring and eating the meal. Typically the handles of many back country spoons are so short that when reaching into the bag to get a spoon full would always end with food getting on my hands and knuckles each time. My hopes that this product with having such a long handle would eliminate that. This product exceeded my expectations.
Original item was damaged by shipper, I had a new one 72 hours after I opened the first one, and it was intact, no questions asked. Perfect length for the ridiculously long bags most dehy makers use.
