Another great product from Sitka!
The quality of the vest seems very good. I normally wear a large in everything. I ordered this in large and the only way I could wear it is with a long sleeve shirt on under it. If I tried to put it over any layers it would be way to tight. Sending it back.
Sitka Ballistic Vest
I had a week to find an in-stock orange vest before a CO mule deer hunt. I looked at this one, a $50 Under Armor product and the cheap stuff. If you believe in crying once, buy this vest. It's the quality you'd expect from a brand like Sitka. The magnetic clasp makes taking this on and off easy to do. It's water resistant and acts like a shell/protects when leaning against rocks and trees. My favorite feature is the pocket options. I'd routinely stuff my gloves in the slip-in pockets and would put my magazine and headlamp int he zipper pockets so I didn't lose them. The shoulder pad seems a bit unnecessary, but it's removable/interchangeable if you don't like it.
Just used it on an Elk hunt in Colorado. Fits great over numerous other layers. It didn’t restrict movement at all. The pockets are perfectly placed and the shoulder pad is a nice addition. I’m 6’2” and 230lbs. The XL was plenty large enough to fit over my other layers. Very high quality like all Sitka gear.
