The Zoleo is a two-way satellite messaging device that utilizes Bluetooth technology and your phone to allow you to send and receive messages no matter where you are. The Zoleo uses satellite, cellular service, or WiFi to make sure that you can send and receive messages no matter what. On the body of the device, it offers both an SOS button and a “check-in” option that offers you, your friends, and family peace of mind even if something were to happen to your phone. The Zoleo does not offer live tracking but does allow you to message your GPS location to others. The Zoleo is rugged and well-built with a rubberized shock and water-resistant construction. It weighs in at only 5.3 oz and has a rechargeable battery life of 200+ hours, making it a dream for backcountry hunters. "Worked great. I shut it off during day when I didn't need it. Powered on when back at camp. Battery lasted 7 days. I shut it off during the day because the blinking light and beeping when messaging. I didn't want that while hunting. Wasn't able to find correct settings to shut off. Start up and minimum plan was 60 dollars. 20 dollars a month after that. I this will be great for not only trips out west but also when running the river fish with my dad. Its not always about a emergency situation. Its also about being connected with family so you can stay out longer"

Good at what it does

"I love my zoleo. It is a really easy device to work. I do think the Garmin's have a advantage by being able to text off of it even if your phone is not working so it definitely has an advantage there, but I have found that the messaged have been very quick and easy to use. The weather report can sometimes take a bit to pull up, but that's not really a big deal to me. Often times I'm seeing weather on the horizion before I even think about running the report anyways. Holds up to weather nicely and with a lot of use I can get 4-5 days on a charge. with minimal use I could get 7-10 days."

"Garmin gets all the love, but I have been extremely happy with my zoleo over the past few years! Battery life is great. A few key features I like are the fact you get a dedicated phone number, the app works well and automatically switches between wifi, cellular then satellite and the app works for sms or app to app messenging (you get a super high character limit if messenging app to app, also saving you messages)"
