Awesome scope.
"Slapped this bad boy on my marlin 30-30 for coastal Oregon deer. Having a 1x8 scope with glass quality this good and a great eye relief is awesome for this lever gun of mine."

"GoHunt is hands down one of my favorite places to do business. The customer service is top notch, they are responsive, and very quick at that. I highly recommend purchasing your items from them. The Vortex StrikeEagle 1-8 FFP is a very capable optic. It’s not a NightForce, Leupold Mark series, or the like, but it is very much like the Razor Gen II E (with some exceptions). The glass clarity is top notch, which vortex has prided themselves on for some time. The reticle is incredibly usable. It’s better than simple cross hairs or even has marks, as, let’s be honest, a 1-8 is for around the 600 meter mark, and generally benefits speed. The EMR8 reticle is perfect for holds, both considering distance and wind, and the illumination, at least for me in Florida, is day light bright. A final pro is that the eye relief is superb, I find it to be 3.5-4”, which is insane, and at high powers, you don’t need to work hard to find a head position to alleviate scope shadow, the eye relief largely stays the same throughout the power spectrum is is effortless, in my experience. Just as easy to get the eye box of 1 power as it is 8 power. The major downsides to the 1-8 is that it’s pretty dang heavy and on 1 power, it’s very distorted/fisheyed, I find I need to set it to 1.25 power to match what my other eye is seeing, to avoid a headache or the same object at different sizes for each eye. Not an issue if you run it on a power above 1… I keep mine around the 3-4 mark, as I have a piggyback dot for closer encounters, that could benefit from a more heads up positioning, I use this for hog hunting, personal defense, and tactical games."
