Stone Glacier M7

I live the Pacific NW and bought the SG M7 coat and pants for Bow Hunting Blacktail in the cold/wet Oregon winter. Spent about 5 hours in the pouring rain and 15 to 25 mph gust and here to tell you I was BONE dry when I returned to the truck. I had spent hours on the web watching comparison videos and chose these over KUIU due to the weight of material and was not let down. Very durable in the brush, pretty quite as well and also stayed toasty with the light fleece material inside. Plenty of pockets and the only thing that held true with some complaints were the extra length on the arms but I don’t understand why it’s so hard just to tighten up the cuffs and it gives you plenty of room to have the sleeves over any gloves, some people will find anything to gripe about. They only come in two colors which was a bummer so I settled for the gray, which was all they had in my size, speaking of which I’m 5’10” 187lbs and the Large was perfect with room for a woobie coat and shirt and the pants with my lightweight summer pants underneath.

M7 jacket

Very versatile. Keeps me warm and dry.

Great Jacket

Purchased as an outer layer for a 2nd rifle hunt in CO. Temps varied between low 20s at first light to high 60s during the day. Breathable fabric and generous pit zips made it easy to regulate temp. I ordered true to size and still had room for a thin down layer under in addition to a base layer and thin sweater. As others have noted, the sleeves are gorilla length so I found myself constantly adjusting the cuff closures. We hunted varied terrain involving both crawling through open areas to stalk and picking through brush and blowdown. The construction is bombproof and it doesn’t appear to be any worse for wear after eight days out. My only gripe was that it’s expensive and my dollars didn’t buy made in the USA. We have a guy in my hometown, Billy Reid (shameless plug) who has managed to figure out how to build fashion jeans in the US by building a network of skilled workers in AL and MS; I wonder why SG had to go to Vietnam to build this jacket. If I paid $100 less i might not be so critical. Other than that, I would recommend this product to anyone. It’s super high quality, made for hunting, and not likely to blow up under hard use like some of the recreational gear I’ve used in the past.

Looks and feels nice but not warm enough for late season.

I spoke to a rep at SG before buying this jacket. He informed me that this was his go-to late season jacket. I have a hard time believing this after using it with a merino wool base layer and a fairly warm mid layer in 34 degrees. I wasn't cold, but can't imaging using this in central MT or CO late-season.

Ridiculously long sleeves

This jacket has ridiculously long sleeves. I ordered a Large and the sleeves extended to the first knuckle on my hand. Before you go thinking I am just some odd shaped carnival attraction, I am 6-1 185lbs and have a long/athletic build; too long of sleeves has never been a problem for me. Before I bought this I read some reviews on another site and someone had the exact same comment as me. I dismissed it as some random dudes weird issue. Its not a random thing. These sleeves are absurdly long. The jacket is awesome otherwise, but I returned it. I can't have several inches of extra jacket around my hands.
