Highlights- Waterproof leg design prevents water and debris from entering the leg tubes- Sturdy but slim mid-weight design- Handles heavy optics very well
BreakdownThe Sirui W-1204 Waterproof Carbon Fiber Tripod features a waterproof leg design that prevents water or other debris from entering the leg tubes. The 4-section legs are individually adjustable with twist locks. Maximum height of 65" and a minimum height of 5.7", thanks to its split center column, makes this tripod versatile in any situation. One of the legs is removable and can be attached to the center column to make a full-sized 63.8" monopod or walking stick. With a load capacity of 33.1 lb and only weighing 3 lb 1 oz, this tripod will handle about any optics you put on top of it.
After using my cheap photography tripod far longer than I should have been, I recently picked this up and have not been disappointed.
The twist locks have a solid stop and lock down snugly, and can easily be adjusted with mittens. The two piece center column can be adjusted with a simple twist and is also rock solid when it's locked. The weight hook on the bottom of the center column is a smart addition, as is the detachable leg to make a monopod. I've used monopods for glassing with binos before, and it works well, it's even better that I've always got it with me now.
Overall, I'm impressed by the level of stability this gives my 80mm spotter, and am glad I went with this over the Outdoorsmans that I had been eyeing.
There is a bag, sling, and spike feet that I though I would have to pick up, but came in the package.
Thrilled to have this, thank you goHUNT!
This tripod is legit. I was looking in between this and an outdoorsmans tripod. I settled with this for a few reasons and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so solid, nothing shakes with my spotter or 18’s on it. I love how high it can extend as well as how solid it is when you are seated and you have it in its low position. Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase.
This tripod is not only light. It’s super sturdy in all positions. I’ve broke the rules and had the legs fully extended with the neck partially extended while glassing a down slope in the wind with 15s and had absolutely no shaking. The legs are also super Smooth and easy to adjust. Whether your on your butt or standing this is a tripod that can do it all with ease.
