Sizing way off

Bought these as heard good things about them. Bought a size in which waist landed in the middle of the size range. Got them and went to try them on and they are way off. No way would these ever fit the size ranges they say they are for. Gave them away to a much skinner person in which they fit perfectly which was about 6 inches of waist difference. Will try other brands after this.
