"Adjustable and solid."
"Haven’t used them yet but very light, sturdy. Happy with the purchase"
"For years I have used a pair of Costco poles, multiple heavy packouts and yes they are not perfect but do their job. Purchased these Peax poles hoping they would overcome the weak points of the “cheap” poles. Pretty sad when I received them and not the “Made in China” label but figured they were atleast designed in the US. First moderate downhill pack out one of the poles snapped in half causing me to fall and bang up my elbow. I went back to the Costco poles, they have much better flex and durability. Based on these poles I will never buy another Peax product. If cheap Chinese crap is what I’m going to get m, then might as well spend a quarter of the money."
"Overall, great trekkers. Durable and lightweight. I like that the lower leg material is aluminum and the uppers are carbon, as opposed to carbon lower/aluminum upper or full carbon with some other brand poles. I think the lower aluminum leg adds a necessary increase in durability overall. My only gripe is that the micro adjustment on the clamps have a tendency to loosen with use. The adjustment mechanism works well, so you can simply tighten back up on the fly. I have never had the clamps themselves open or loosen while in use, just the micro adjustment for the clamps loosen as the clamping mechanism is cycled. Still recommend."
"Overhyped Chinese junk. One snapped in half and one tip bent. Basically no return policy for lack of durability. Also heavier than and no more durable than the competitors that have been making trekking poles for decades longer."
"These trekking poles are great. Comfortable grips, light, quiet, and sturdy. They do the job well."
"Best and toughest poles I have used. After an ACL replacement I didn't know if I would be able to hunt in the wilderness. I borrowed a set from a friend and just packed them until we harvested an elk in the Salmon River canyon (Frankchurch Wilderness)in Idaho. I packed half that bull . 75 miles and dropped 1800 feet in elevation. Throught rock slide and cliffs. They held up. Two days later we did another bull this time 1600 feet up same canyon different drainage they held up again. I remember hearing them beat through the rocks in the dark and thought they would be like the many others I had used and be junk. Come daylight I inspected the poles now I own 2 sets. One lives in my pack the other in the pickup!"
"Top of the handle broke off on the first pack out . Peax would not honor the warranty . Chinese made junk . . ."
"Have already put about 75 miles on these bad boys. Not new to trekking poles as I have already broken other cheaper models. The durability and ergonomics have far surpassed other pairs. I also like that the end or smallest part can be replaced if broken. If you like your knees and love 4WD up hill these are for you. Going down hill is great as well as you have 3 points of contact instead of just your knees. These have already saved me from slipping on loose rocks and gravel several times!"
"I used these on a few short scouting hikes already and like them a lot. They are sturdy enough that I feel I can really pull myself up a steep hill. Major upgrade from Black Diamond poles for sure! Im only giving a 4 because I have yet to pack out meat out with these. I don’t think there will be problems on a pack out but seeing is believing for me."
