The Helium Bivy is a true minimalist bivy weighing in at 1 lb 8 oz for fast and light solo expeditions. The waterproof, fully seam-taped and breathable Pertex Shield+ fabric doesn't compromise on durability and the floor is made of 40D with TPU lamination floor. Another great feature about this bivy is the mesh around the head area for those times when the bugs are bad, but you'd prefer to leave the rain cover off. Other great features are the five stake loops, one guy line loop, hydro sealed floor and anti-fungal coating on the floor. The Helium is one of the lightest bivy’s on the market and a goHUNT staff favorite for early season scouting and hunting.

good, but not MLD

good product, but heavy...and i got wet. Went out and got the Mountain Laurel Designs Bivy and will never go back. Lighter, more durable, more functional and 3 layer waterproofing kept me dry in Alaskan PWS in November for 5 nights. 20 degrees, 15" of snow night one, sleeping on snow with floorless shelter...never got wet.

OR Helium Bivy

Overall the sack is light and packs down to nothing. It sets up in seconds. With shaving weight comes durability issues. First night, it was deployed and when I went in it to sleep, I heard a rip. After inspecting the issue, a small stick had tore a 1 foot tear in the bottom. The twig culprit was laughable. It’s hard to imagine that would destroy anything.

If your gonna buy this sack, bring a tyvac sheet for the bottom. Also, you will need stakes to anchor it. None came with it.

Mine was also missing loops as well.

Missing loops for stakes

Pulled this out to use it in the CO backcountry for archery this year. Went to stake this out, but it was missing some of the loops in which to stake it. This lended itself to a night where the the top of the bivvy laid on top of my sleeping bag all night, soaking my bag and eventually (~3am) myself. Luckily it was sunny and warm the next day so I could dry everything out. The loops weren't pulled out - they were never installed in some locations for some reason. It really seems like shotty craftsmanship.

Exactly what I wanted

This is exactly what I was looking for. Worked perfect for my backcountry hike. A good fit for me and my bag and kept the mosquitos out! Very happy with my purchase.
