Seems great

"I have walked about 3 miles in it so far. No hotspots. Seems good for me"

Solid pack and fits me well, some concerns with durability

"Spent 5 days after cow elk using the metcalf as a day pack while camping from a basecamp. After daily hikes through thick stuff, the waist is starting to wear already. Not sure if this is normal since it’s my first serious pack, but it worked flawlessly otherwise. Fit plenty of gear, super light and pretty water resistant without treating it"

Omar O. (4/5)

Great pack!

"Nice and light weight and fits my body really well. I really like the colors. Can't wait to get it out on a hunt."

Drew S. (5/5)

Squeaky

"Squeakiest pack ever. Only use this pack if you hunt deaf animals. I've tried washing it, taking it off the frame, adjusting the straps, but this pack still squeaks like crazy. There's an entire reddit thread dedicated to squeaky Mystery Ranch Metcalfs. I've used mine for two years hoping the noise would go away but it hasn't. It's terrible for trying to be quiet and listening for animals while you hunt. The only real solution seems to be buying a new pack."

Durable, great size

"Very comfortable at load. Versatile pack."

Eric N. (5/5)

Nice upgrade

"Packs handles 3-5 days easy and handles weight well."

Tony G. (5/5)

Great size and construction

"I'm looking forward to using this pack for upcoming hunts in CO, PA and NJ. I learned a bunch by watching Randy Newburg hunting videos in regard to packing and what to carry with you."

Larry H. (5/5)

Plenty of space, took on

"Plenty of space, took on 17 mile weekend spring bear hunt and fit everything with room to spare. I was worried with its size it would be cumbersome to hunt with as we day hunted once camp was set but it compressed to a small size and worked flawlessly."

Gage D. (5/5)

Best pack I have ever

"Best pack I have ever owned."

Lighter but...

"The pack definitely is lighter. You can feel this when you pick it up. I didn't try out the newest features of the higher load shelf and load lifter attachment points. The belt was what I was most interested in. It was definitely softer than the previous version's hip belt. I am curious how well it holds up. The shoulder straps seem to have less padding and didn't feel as cushioning as my older Metcalf. One thing I was very disappointed by was the removal of the MOLLE type strapping on the waist belt. The new version only has them up on the front half of the belt. I utilize these on my current pack and thus sent the pack back."
