Why we like this product
Breakdown
The Metcalf is on the latest Guide Light MT Frame which offers an improved waist belt and a slightly lighter frame. The Guide Light MT Frame also makes the Overload shelf easier to access. The bag itself has also undergone a couple of minor changes to increase functionality. One of these changes is that the full-length side zipper now runs outside of the side pocket making it easier to access gear at the very bottom of your pack. The other change is that now the Metcalf has two open-topped side pockets rather than just one. This is a great improvement because it allows you to carry your rifle or tripod on either side of your pack. The Metcalf is an all-around workhorse and is guaranteed to be a favorite among hunters looking for versatility and all-around utility.

Does the metcalf pack have a pocket for a hydration bladder?
I wanted a slightly larger pack than I have been using and the Metcalf fits the bill perfectly. I have found the pack easy to adjust to my frame. The pack appears to be very well made and well designed. I've been carrying about 35 pounds in it and sits on my frame very comfortably. The pack is very quiet.
I’ve only had this pack for three weeks and have about 25 miles on it so this isn’t a long-term review. I bought it to use for a western hunt next year and have been using it on weekend hikes. It’s comfortable and really seems to carry a load well. The size is perfect for my needs so far. It can be cinched down and used as a day pack or can blow out and fit quite a bit of gear. The side zipper is really nice so that you can get to things at the bottom of the bag without having to dig everything out. My only complaints are the lack of pockets or dividers for organizing your stuff (which can be solved by using some ditty bags). Other than that I’m really digging it.
I can't seem to get one that won't squeak with every step... real fuckin aggravating 😒 🙄
Can’t say enough about how great this pack is. Lightweight, durable, and comfortable. Also can’t beat the service and price from goHunt.
