** Please note the Guide Light MT Frame has different sizing than previous Mystery Ranch packs. Many people who used to be a large will now fit a medium pack. Please check the sizing tab to ensure you order the correct size.
BreakdownThe new 2020 version of the Metcalf takes the previous best-selling Mystery Ranch pack and adds some very functional features making the bag better than it ever was before. First and foremost the Metcalf is now on the Guide Light MT Frame which offers an improved waist belt and a slightly lighter frame. The Guide Light MT Frame also makes the Overload shelf easier to access. The bag itself has also undergone a couple of minor changes to increase functionality. One of these changes is that the full-length side zipper now runs outside of the side pocket making it easier to access gear at the very bottom of your pack. The other change is that now the Metcalf has two open-topped side pockets rather than just one. This is a great improvement because it allows you to carry your rifle or tripod on either side of your pack. The 2020 Metcalf is still the all-around workhorse that its predecessor was and is guaranteed to be a favorite among hunters looking for versatility and all-around utility.
*If you are in-between sizes we recommend that you size down. This will ensure that you have the ability to tighten the waist belt under a heavy load and or after having spent multiple days in the backcountry and having lost a few pounds.

Great pack. No doubt it will last a long time. Only used during training hikes so far, but looking forward to Sept.
On a side note. I did receive a “Flash Sale” email. Guess what was on sale shortly after I purchase. The exact pack I bought.
First of all I want to thank everyone in the go hunt team they went beyond my expectations the pack is very roomy verry comfortable. I got it after the hunting season can’t weight to try it out with a buck on my back
The pack is just like most reviews indicate. I can walk for miles with 30-40 lbs. and the pack is the least of my troubles.
Bought this pack largely based on the glowing accolades that have been heaped upon in by the likes of Randy Newberg and others, and after a few weeks toting it around on daily conditioning hikes at local state park, I couldn't be more pleased. This thing rides better than any Osprey or Deuter I've ever owned/tested. The erganmics are seamless, the straps and buckles are of a quality I've never seen on any of the other top-name brands in the backpacking space, and the load capacity is unreal. If you're on the fence about this pack at all, just make the jump. Can't wait to put my Metcalf to the real test for many years to come.
Great pack, buy one now! Well worth the price!
