Breakdown
The Marshall is on the Guide Light MT Frame and has the same SJ buckles as the Beartooth. It also comes with the new Daypack Lid and one Quick Attach Zoid Bag. The Daypack Lid functions as a normal lid, but once it is detached it can be converted into a 700 cubic inch approach backpack, perfect for use during a stalk. The Quick-Attach Zoid Bag is a 245 cubic inch storage bag that is perfect for kill kits, first aid kits, or other similar essentials. The Marshall has special attachment loops that the Quick Attach Zoid Bag attaches to, guaranteeing you can find and access that gear quickly.

The Marshall Backpack is expansive, accessible and full of surprises just like its namesake, The Bob Marshall Wilderness. Sitting on the sturdy, Guide Light MT Frame™, you can load it from the top via the shroud access, get to all your gear from the side through the full-length side zip and store a sleeping bag in the bottom Speedzip™. There are also two external long pockets for a spotting scope and other essentials that need to be readily accessible. After a long stalk and a clean shot, the Overload Shelf™ allows you to push the weight limits of what's humanly possible on a pack out. The adjustable yoke for custom torso fit allows you to fine-tune for fit and function. Week-long hunts feel like second nature when you carry the Marshall.

Sent it back

"Beautiful pack at a great price, but (1) overkill for what I needed, and (2) after purchase, I read a number of reviews in which users of this pack, which had been discontinued and the model upgraded to address the issue, reported that the frame "squeaks," so I sent it back. Very smooth transactions from beginning to end: would by from this company again."

The pack is a gift

"The pack is a gift for my 19yr old son. He is expecting to be able to pack into the backcountry hunting and camping."

Absolutely, the best backpack for

"Absolutely, the best backpack for what I'm doing on a Colorado mule deer hunt"

I shouldn’t have listened to Randy!

"A couple of years back I purchased the Metcalf after watching a review by Randy Newberg as he said that pack was his go to and if he had to pick just one it would be the Metcalf. So I bit and finally got it, and after using it a couple times I just can’t get myself to like it. I guess what works for some doesn’t work for others. At this point the only way I really use that frame is with the Mule, which I absolutely love. I just can’t get into having to unbuckle my pack whenever I need something from it, and then unload it and readjust all the straps, it just seemed like a constant battle with the Metcalf which really doesn’t give you a lot of options as far as a pack is concerned. After an elk hunt in Colorado I started looking at the Marshall. I feel it gives you a couple more options for easy zipper storage, it’s bigger, and actually has some compartmentalization. I think it’s just easier and less frustrating if something is purpose built. For me the Marshall is going to be used for packing gear, which will include my Mule which is awesome for day hunts. I figure I will have the best of both worlds, packability with the Marshall and ease of use with the Mule. Mystery Ranch is quality equipment and I was satisfied with the quality of my first pack which is why I decided to stick with Mystery Ranch and go with the Marshall."

Final piece to the puzzle

"I’ve talked myself out of a very well deserved pack forever but I finally bit the bullet and just like all things I only wish I would have bought it sooner can’t wait to put it to the test come elk season"
