The enthusiasm behind KOWA's over 60 years of spotting scopes is manifested in these supreme models. The pure Fluorite crystal used is the optimum optical material for reducing chromatic aberration, providing the ultimate viewing experience. The extraordinary light gathering capability supports glassing during dusk and dawn. All spotting scopes are waterproof to JIS protection class 7 and filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent the lens from fogging. Quick and fine dual focus engineering makes operation a delight out in the field. The magnesium alloy body made by a sophisticated molding process called thixotropic molding has the feel and strength of a traditional metal body with decreased weight when compared to other large-diameter scopes.

Best 80mm-class scope out there

"Hands down, the best glass you're likely to get your hands on. Its only rivals are Zeiss and Swaro. I personally found it to be clearer than Swaro, with an excellent field of view. My only gripe is that it's almost too wide, and it takes your eye a few seconds to scan the entire frame. Edge-to-edge clarity is superb, and the color looks the same as what you see with your naked eye."

Considered as best glass in world... for a reason!

"I now have 2 hunting seasons through this scope and I can say that the fluorite crystal glass is truly some of the best optics the world has to offer. It has a very wide field of view and every little spec of it is absolutely crystal clear. It is bright enough to pick up animals well into dark light hours and the color fidelity is truly unmatched. Obviously any of the big fancy optic names will give you big fancy results, but I can say personally from my own comparisons that this scope does outperform in some measures of optical quality (for me: color fidelity, color contrast, field of view and resolution on the outmost edge of FOV). I think any buyer would be happy with any of the scopes in this tier of optics - but for me personally, I hate the helical focus wheel of the competitor and I truly Love the simplicity and speed with which you can pin-point focus these Kowa's. The lens covers are kind of chintzy(at least on the previous gen model), but they manage to stay on just well enough to hold in the pack. The scope itself is tuff - keep it in the pack without a cover, and I have dropped it a couple times, and it certainly has flown many times from the front seat into the dashboard, and I have zero issues from any of it."
