BreakdownWhile breaking down an animal, the last thing anyone wants to deal with is a dull knife. This replacement set of blades for the Randy Newberg EBS Knife from Gerber quickly stows into your pack and provides a fresh set of 3 task-specific blades: The backstrap blade, task blade, and breakdown blade. Each blade is constructed of high-quality 440c stainless steel and is ready to use out of the box.
Great knife, blades swap out easily and are super sharp.
I've tried the replacement blade knives on Western Big Game in the past and they just aren't very durable. I was dissapointed. I'm looking forward to trying out these knives on next years Elk Hunt
Replacement blades didn’t last as long or stay sharp as long as desired. One blade each for a mule deer and elk. Though I should have gotten more out of each blade. As it is ordered more blades once I got home. Other than that both knives worked fine.
Randy Newberg knife was used on an Idaho elk and Washington mule deer buck. Love it amazing system light, fast, and sharp.
I bought the replacement blades to throw in my backpack just as a backup in case I somehow manage to dull the three blades that came with the knife and don't have a sharpener handy. I only wish they came in some type of case to store them. The case that comes with the EBS only has room for the blades that come with the knife. I called Gerber about this. They do not offer a case to store an extra three blades. If I could do it over, I would have just purchased a second full EBS knife
