This headlamp provides 450 Lumens at the max output and features Black Diamonds Dual Fuel technology allowing the headlamp to be run on standard AAA alkaline batteries or the rechargeable BD 1500 Li-ion battery and charger. With PowerTap and Brightness Memory, you cannot only toggle between full and dimmed power but also control the brightness setting without having to revert to the default power setting. "The storm 450 performed great on my 5 day mule deer this season. The red and green lights worked great for going in early morning and the white light was really bright and worked perfect to breakdown and pack out a buck taken at last light. Battery life was awesome, even though I forgot to put the light in lock mode and it was accidently turned on a few times in my pack."

These headlamps last many years (not forever), are lightweight, reliable, bright, have many settings, and last a while on a set of batteries. This one seems no different, just an updated model. The lock feature on these is a must as well since you don't have to worry about the headlamp accidentally getting turned on in your pack/pocket only to find it dead when you need it most.
