The Spot 400 was engineered for great all-around performance in all conditions, featuring a robust waterproof housing and 400 Lumens of bright light at max output. With a compact body, the Spot 400 is more ergonomic, and the updated user interface includes a second switch for easy mode selection. The Spot 400 has several modes that can be cycled through to include proximity, distance, dimming, strobe, red LED night-vision, and lock modes. In addition, the multifaceted optical efficiency lens technology not only provides brighter light but also saves battery which can be tracked using the battery meter, three-LED lights on the side of the housing. PowerTap technology allows the user to instantly adjust between max light output and dimmed power. Brightness Memory allows you to turn the headlamp on and off at a chosen brightness without having to revert back to the default setting. The red LED night-vision has dimming, and strobe modes, and can be activated without having to cycle through all of the white light settings. The Spot 400's lock mode safeguards against the headlamp accidentally turning on and draining battery power when stored in your pocket or pack.

"I really like Black Diamond headlamps. This is the second version of the spot that I have owned. I also have the rechargeable battery pack for this one. That makes it convenient, you can recharge or you can also use three AAA batteries. It's plenty bright and has the red light feature so you don't blow out your friends eyes while trying to do something in camp."
