Breakdown
The SkyAir ULT is a sil/sil tarp tent large enough for two men and gear that only weighs 8 oz. The poleless design is pitched with a trekking pole in the front and back and stakes around the side. For early season use, you will be hard-pressed to find a lighter weight shelter. For bug season use, add the SkyAir Mesh Insert, or in bad weather add the Footprint and Front Vestibule to protect you and your gear from the elements. The versatility the SkyAir provides is excellent and is the minimalist backcountry hunter’s dream. The packed size of 8” x 4” x 4” and weight of 8 oz will increase your range in the backcountry, allowing you to increase your usable load for your pack out after a successful hunt. It's not seam sealed, it's lapfelled construction, a waterproof stitching technique. You can add your own seam sealant if you'd like.

After careful searching this tarp, mesh, footprint, and vestibule were the winners for me. Unbelievably lightweight with more room than you’d think. Going canoe/camping on black creek next month for a first time tryout. Hopefully get some weather to test it out.
Very light weight and much more space than expected.
I purchased the entire system. Tarp, Mesh Insert, Foot Print, and Vestibule. Full system comes in just under 1.5lbs and let me tell you it's awesome! Easy to pitch and take down. I hunt in AZ almost year around and this tent will easily be a 3-4 season tent for me. Love how versatile it is and at 1.5lbs you'll forget it's even in your pack.
Im not always backpack hunting but staying mobile here in AZ is key so i love how quick i can have camp set up and tore down if needed.
Stands up to wind, rain, and whatever you can throw at it. Im still amazed at how well the Trekking poles stabilize this tent.
It's a gift for someone else who hasn't received it yet, but he asked for this particular item
I purchased this shelter and vestibule for a early season backpack hunt in Nevada for mule deer. The tarp is not that easy to set up and will take some time and especially in windy conditions if you're alone. The fabric used while lightweight is extremely noisy even in the slightest breeze. Ear plugs are a necessity. Vestibule is 72" and not an inch longer. If you're 6'0" or taller this definitely not the shelter for you. Lastly, the shelter does have amazing kite skills. Had a mini-dust devil take the shelter along with clothes and sleeping bags over 50ft up despite being staked down. To SG credit, they did fully refund my purchase.
