Just received the fly cover, First impressions are that it fits my pack well (as expected on the 28 popup); appear water proof/resistant; and light weight. I anticipate that it will serve its purpose next year in the deer/elk woods.
I haven't used it in the field yet. But upon further investigation it seems to be a solid product. However, I wouldn't take it through thick foliage or trees as the fly isn't built for that. This is strictly built to repel rain. The large fits my Metcalf with plenty of room to spare. So, it should work great for the larger bags.
As far as Gohunt customer service. The order process was easy and delivery was fast. My only recommendation is to encourage Myster Ranch to improve the durability. But of course this would make the fly heavier.
I would also make it dual colored (orange/OD green) making it more diverse for any situation. Also with reflective tape horizontally across the fly. Just in case you become, "That Guy."
Anyways, I am very pleased with my purchase. Thanks M.R. and Gohunt.
My son used it to pack out his elk and mule deer from Montana he said it worked great and was very comfortable
It rains a lot in Oregon, I am so thankful to have my Metcalf pack covered. It keeps all my gear nice and dry.
