Nice Tripod

"Lightweight and durable. Extends enough for a shorter/average person to glass from a standing position. The quality you expect from vortex."

Summit Carbon Tripod

"Extremely light and compresses to a small package. Head has very smooth movement. Arca Swiss mount with vortex binocular mount is game changer for long glassing sessions."

Happy

"Lightweight. One of the legs on mine got stiff/stuck, but is working again. My friend has one with the same issue. If I don't accidentally twist the leg while using the twist locks, then it seems to work fine."

Almost the perfect backpacking tripod

"Picked this up after carrying a Slik aluminum tripod (pro 700DX) on my back all fall. As great as the Slik was, it just was too freaking heavy for real backcountry stuff, tipping the scales at over 6 lbs with a Slik head. So I set out looking for an ultralight tripod that was also ultra compact while still being sturdy enough to support my spotting scope and binos as needed. I didn't need a standing height tripod, the Slik could continue to fulfill that role for road glassing and scouting. With that in mind, I settled on this tripod, and it's literally almost perfect! It folds down super compact, it's very lightweight, and plenty sturdy enough to use while seated. The ONLY "complaint" I have is the two-way pan head. It works great for range use and general glassing, but for precise glassing, it was difficult to use effectively. So I ended up swapping out the pan head for a compact fluid head which added about 4 ounces to the total weight of the tripod and about 2 inches to the length, but the usability and my overall glassing experience improved significantly. With the fluid head, I would dare say this is the perfect backpacking tripod! The two way pan head now resides atop my Slik tripod for range and road use, and it works great in that role. If this came in a "legs only" purchase option for less money like many other tripods on the market, I would give it a 5/5 rating, without question!"

Solid tripod. Really light.

"Fits my Vortex Razor HD 27-60X85 perfectly. It's also really light, so going to be great when I get deep into the woods next season."

Mixed at the moment

"The first tripod I received was broken less than 5 minutes out of the box. I was testing it, and one of the legs was pretty stiff in opening. I was extending it and closing it to see if it just needed worked in, and a section on the leg completely detached a plastic piece fell out, and the leg would not go back in. I contacted Vortex, and they were fantastic. they had a new tripod sent out and a return label for the broken one, only costing me one weekend of hunting. I have been extremely careful with the new one, and so far it seems to be in better shape than the first, but time will tell its durability as well. The biggest comfort I have is Vortex is very honorable with their warranty, so that does give me some piece of mind. I do like this tripods lightweight, and for it's weight it is still very stable."

Light and sturdy.

"Light and sturdy. Typical vortex gear. Not topline, but affordable and more than sufficient."
