Why we like this product
Breakdown
The Metcalf is on the Guide Light MT Frame which offers an improved waist belt and a slightly lighter frame. The Guide Light MT Frame also makes the Overload shelf easier to access. The bag itself has also undergone a couple of minor changes to increase functionality. One of these changes is that the full-length side zipper now runs outside of the side pocket making it easier to access gear at the very bottom of your pack. The Metcalf has two open-topped side pockets rather than just one. This is a great improvement because it allows you to carry your rifle or tripod on either side of your pack. The Metcalf is an all-around workhorse and is guaranteed to be a favorite among hunters looking for versatility and all-around utility.

I just hauled 65 lbs of sheep off a mountain. I'm 5'2" and 115 lbs - so while my legs about gave out a few times, the pack amazingly did not contribute to it. The weight distribution is set up perfect for a smaller frame. It held my gun securely thanks to the side pouches and stayed surprisingly dry inside despite constant rain and never drying it out fully. The gun pouches and frame size were the deciding factor - as many women's packs don't have options for this. Only negative I had was the pack capacity - men's packs definitely fit more.
