The Rocky Mountain Calls Strike A Strut Pot call utilizes a custom slate striking surface in an American Walnut pot and a one-piece striker made from Brazilian Cherry wood. This combination creates crisp, clear notes that drive gobblers crazy. The Strike A Strut pot call is great for making a wide range of turkey sounds including yelping, clucking, cutting, cackling, and purrs in both low and high volume.
Purr - Slowly drag striker across the slate with light downward pressure.
Yelp - Drag striker quickly across the slate in a small oval pattern approximately 1/2" to 1" in size. Repeat without lifting the striker from the call for several yelps in a sequence.
Cluck - Quickly move the striker 1/8" to 1/4" of an inch across the slate with light pressure.
Cutting - Quickly move the striker 1/8" to 1/4" across the slate with firm pressure. Move back and forth without lifting the striker from the surface. Repeat for each cut.
Use the scratchpad provided when the surface needs to be roughed up for better friction control and sound when operating the striker. Natural oils in your hands leave spots on the surface that will need to be cleaned. Rub the scratch pad across the call and blow clean.
