I still carry a havalon or vital but i would not do so with out a more durable knife in my pack.
Quality is great and overall sturdy and blade is sharp.
Have been using for 3 years - Jan 2021 Quartered and backstrapped (gutless method) 2 cow elk to carry down the mountain. Used one blade for 1.5 elk (very durable). Watched a buddy break 2 Piranta blades (they function more like a scalpel and are too small to stand up to much side torque). The "Buck"/folding area can become fouled with hair/gristle but clean easily under some warm water followed with some WD40...a small price to pay for how well these blades cut, keep their edge and stand up to some torque to get thru joints (when animal is contorted on side of snow covered mountain). Bought 2 more for sons for last Christmas and they also love 'em (one used his to gut, quarter AND cape using only 1 blade)...
I bought 2 of these knifes as gifts this Deer season. Both were able to use to skin their deer and were very please how sharp/smooth they worked.
Great knife used it on a bull moose this weekend and it worked great and didn't break like a havalon blade
