Host to some of the harshest maritime conditions you'll find anywhere, Kodiak Island in Alaska is a practical habitat for the U.S. Navy's cold-weather survival training grounds. With full-density padding from top to toe and an extra-heavyweight, 100% U.S. made merino wool knit, the Kodiak tactical boot sock is built to protect those venturing into the coldest winter environments. Traditional outer plaiting construction positions most of the wool fibers next to the skin for optimized insulation and effective moisture wicking.

Have used them in the snow a couple times now. Super comfy and warm. The lining provides some cushion too. I think these will last quite a while. Glad I purchased them!
Very comfortable and great for running non insulated boots.
Good price and excellent quality.
I love em! They are called heavy weight and they really are! I have bought smartwool heavyweight socks in the past and I think the Farm to Feet are thicker.
I bought some new boots when I purchased these socks. Wearing thinner socks I was wearing holes in my feet trying to break the boots in. On day two I put the Farm to Feet heavys on and had no problems hiking 7 miles.
Very warm, they wick moisture well, and they dry easily.
I would have no reservations about throwing these in my pack for a backcountry hunt.
Also a great combination with a un-insulated boot when the temperature get below 35 or so.
