Breakdown
Don’t let a little claustrophobia keep you from getting into a mummy bag. The Badger is a vast 66″ wide at the shoulder and 41″ at the foot. The girth is kept in line with a warm down-filled collar that provides a formidable barrier preventing convective heat loss. Its draft tube is stoutly filled and protected from zipper jams by a Dacron™ stiffener. The hood is cut large and fills around your face without having to be cinched tight. You get the comfort of a large volume bag in weather-resistant MicroLite XP™ fabric while 23 oz. of 850+ down keeps this bag lofted to 6″.

Glad to see GoHunt offer this sleeping bag now. I don’t think there’s a better 15 degree bag out there right now. I had an experience where I had a bad rain storm through the night and I forgot to seam seal my floor-less shelter again and I had water dripping on my bag all night long. The shell kept the water rolling off of me and I stayed toasty warm all night long during a deer rifle hunt in October. I know I would have had to cut the trip short if my bag would have gotten soaked. I’m 6’3” and the long size is insanely roomy. This is my absolute favorite piece of gear I own and that’s no joke at all. Buy it folks.
I bought this sleeping bag to be my one-and-done bag for 90% of my trips. Construction is impeccable and it compresses down to almost volleyball size in a Sea-to-Summit ultrasil compression sack. I chose this bag over other comparable down bags because of Western Mountaineering's reputation. the bag's size/weight, and versatility. With the full length zipper I can unzip and use it as a quilt in warmer temps or batten down the hatches at its extremes. Plenty wide while still staying super warm (for me) down to 25 degrees the first night with a base layer on and an insulated sleeping pad in a SO tipi without a stove. Shell fabric performed great against overnight condensation inside the tipi. I've had mummy bags previously and they have all been cut too tight to get a good nights sleep, either at the chest or legs which then end up getting clammy - not the case here. This one has plenty of width for me and I'm 6'2', 215. I think with the room in this bag I could easily wear extra down layers and take it down to colder temps below its rating on the right sleeping pad. Hopefully the last sleeping bag I buy for the next 20+ years.
