Breakdown
Seek Outside's Silex a large single-person trekking pole tent that can be easily pitched with four primary stakes. It features two doors and two vestibules to give you a ton of room for one person and gear, even though two people can fit you won't be able to utilize the nest. The Silex performs well in high wind situations because it pitches tight due to subtle cuts hidden in the seams. If rough weather is expected it's recommended to utilize all stake loops instead of just the four corners. The Silex is a zipperless shelter so no need to worry about leaking, wearing out, or adding weight to your pack. The Silex is a perfect option for the hunter that's counting ounces to go farther and hunt harder.
For those looking to add a stove to your silex, we recommend a medium stove if you're looking to save weight, provide good heat, and have a cooking surface. If weight isn't as big of a concern, you want more cooking surface, or you already own a larger Seek Outside shelter like the Cimarron, we'd recommend a large stove.

I used the Silex 1 person on a recent CO elk hunt. 11000ft. Pitched very easily and quickly. Used a main line between trees and stakes tight to the ground. I stayed warm and it did not leak. However, waking 1 morning I found myself in a near white out situation with heavy wet snow. The wet snow on the outside and heavy condensation on the inside the tent became extremely heavy for its size. It was all the little bag that it comes in wanted to contain it. Still gets 4 stars because it did keep me dry. Pitches very quickly. Love the zipperless door. And 2hrs in the sun and a slight breeze it was completely dry and ready to go again. Just wish it had a vent of some kind to reduce the condensation.

The shelter is simple to setup and the zipper less door functions better then imagined. Lots of room for a solo hunt.
How is this not the number 1 tent in the backpack community? Shipping was quick! I enjoyed doing business with go hunt in the future as a matter of fact I have a silex nest on back order currently
