* Stone Glacier products are designed with an athletic fit to provide its users with the highest performance possible in the field. Please use the sizing chart to help guide you to the correctly sized garment.
Note, the De Havilland Pants incorporate a Contour™ Waist System which provides approximately 3 inches of waist adjustment to create an exact fit.
BreakdownStone Glacier's De Havilland Pants are technically advanced and specifically designed for the back country hunter. First and foremost they are built from a blended fabric that is highly breathable and offers 4-way stretch. Additionally, the face fabric is DWR treated to give it water and wind resistance.
Thanks to Stone Glacier's Contour Waist system you have up to 3" of adjustability in the waist to ensure you have the perfect fit whether you've lost a few pounds over several days in the field or you are layering up for cold weather. By minimizing the materials needed for belt loops, removing snaps and buttons, and incorporating a micro-adjust zipper fly, the Contour Waist prevents bunching of excess fabric on the hips and eliminates sore spots completely while carrying a heavy pack.
When you combine these features with the long zippered side vents, articulated knees with knee pad compatibility, and an athletic fit these pants become a clear choice for any hunt.
*Waist: Measure around your waist at the narrowest part. This measurement should coincide with the size in which you typically purchase pants.
**Belt Line: Measure around your waist at the point in which your pants typically ride.
***Inseam: From a standing position, measure from your crotch down the inside leg to the floor.
I've worn the Stone Glacier De Havilland pants in size 32x25 (i'm 6ft, 170lbs) for the past 12 days. Material feels durable, very similar to other softshell layers out there. ZIppers are awesome, the pockets are located in the right places, and the waist closure is comfortable. The adjustable zipper is okay, I wouldn't say it's a game changer. All in all, good product. I think with a mix of more durable fabrics on the front and shotshell on the back, they could really make these pants next level.
I wear 32x30 in jeans. I got size small/short. They fit great. A little baggy towards the bottom. Wish SG made them more slim fit. Overall I’m happy to try them out this spring on my bear hunt.
Well, Texas hit -2 in my area and I thought no better time to test the pants out. Love the full length zips on this pant as it enables one to easily remove zippered base layer. I had a silk long john bottom on in this weather which was fine while moving, but noted that I could use a heavier weight base layer when still due to the wind. I'd say these are a bit heavy for early season mule deer/elk hunts unless you tend to run very cold. For mid-to late season and when paired with the right base layer these pants nail it. Love the adjustable waist feature as I usually tend to lose a little weight on extended hunts. Stitching and material are first class so buy them with confidence.
I wanted to love these pants, especially because of what I paid for them. Thought they’d be the be all, end all backpack bowhunting pant. I read all the great reviews, did a lot of research, and had very high hopes.
I am REALLY disappointed. These are the noisiest pants I own. BY FAR. Think dedicated rain pants kind of noisy. I wore them around the house the day I got them, and my wife even commented.... “You can’t hunt in those, can you?”, she asked. No. No I can not.
These pants will be louder than any hunting pant you’ve ever put on before. Do not buy these pants unless you only plan to use them for hiking or backpacking.
No question. These an the lites are where it’s at!
