BreakdownWhen the first Pop Up came out in 2018 it changed the game for day hunters by enabling them to carry a small, convenient, and lightweight bag that could easily convert into a heavy-duty load-hauling frame pack once they got an animal down. Mystery Ranch listened to consumer feedback about a need for more storage and developed the Pop Up 38 which is the largest Pop Up available. The Pop Up 38 frame "pops up" via telescopic stays that utilize trekking pole technology for greater strength and ease of use. This adjustable frame allows you to adjust it to a raised position which allows you to haul heavier loads more efficiently. It features a top-loading shroud and a full-length side zipper for access to the main compartment along with two zippered accessory compartments on the lid. The side water bottle pockets and compression straps can be used to securely carry tripods and trekking poles.
*If you are in-between sizes we recommend that you size down. This will ensure that you have the ability to tighten the waist belt under a heavy load and or after having spent multiple days in the backcountry and having lost a few pounds.

This is a perfect day pack, it is my first mystery ranch pack and it is definitely a high quality pack. Very adjustable, on MR website a few people complained that the back sits far away from the frame when it’s not very full, that is true but it doesn’t take that much stuff in the pack to fix that. Only thing is I wish I ordered a large instead of a medium for a little more adjustability with layers but that’s my own fault.
Loving everything about the pack so far. I would recommend having a hauling frame also to pack out anything very big but this is more than sufficient to haul out the first load and swap over to a meat hauling frame. Little large for just a day pack but perfect for a couple day trip. Highly recommend
Everything is working out on it so far. It took a minute to adjust it to my torso but once I figured out how to get it how I like it it works great
Love this pack. Super comfortable and very rugged. I ran this through Arizona brush with a rifle and tripod attached and it stayed put perfectly.
Great day pack.
Great pack for the price point. Could be a minimalist 3-5 day pack
