BreakdownThe Platypus Big Zip EVO personal hydration system is perfect on an extended backpack hunt. It features a low-profile reservoir with an easy-to-clean wide-mouth opening and a low-profile design that fits the back panel of any pack. The embedded silver-ion protects the reservoir from mold and bacteria. A quick-release hose and shutoff valve make drinking and refilling a breeze. This new EVO version has been modified to produce a 50% faster flow rate. (3L size pictured)
Filled the bladder up with water, placed it in my pack, and drove to my hunting location. By the time I had drove an hour it had leaked over 1L of water. I bought this to replace an older hydration bladder from hydra pack. Thankfully I still had it in my truck. Not pleased with the quality of this bladder and waiting to hear back from platypus on this item
Well built good and quiet has a baffle that keeps from sloshing
After packing my hunting pack and loading into truck noticed the bottom of the pack was wet as well as my entire back seat. Pulled everything out of pack and inspected bladder and couldn’t find anything. Put some pressure on bladder and started to leak from upper seem just under the big zip opening. Was rather disappointed, not even getting it on my back before leaking. I’m just thankful this happened a week prior to my opener and not the day of. I’m sure I just got one that had a defect because Ive seen nothing but great reviews on this product and that was one of the main reason I purchased it. Contacted goHunt prior to writing review, and I have no doubt they will make this right. There is a reason I will go no where else for all my hunting needs. These guys are top notch!
Solid bladder. Mine opened up a couple times and soaked my pack but it's still my go to.
Love the bladder, but the connection from the bite valve assembly to the plastic tubing is not secure. It feels like it could be easily pulled out, especially unintentionally, which would mean leaking water everywhere. I attached a small zip tie around the tubing over the male end of the valve to secure it further, but it's a frustrating feature. I know that at some point I would have pulled something out of the back of my car and unknowingly snagged that valve, soaking whatever else I had in there.
